    - for III International Symposium on Jackfruit and Other Moraceae, which will take place as part of AAHC2024: https://www.actahort.org/members/symposiar?nr=818

  • ISHS online submission procedures: https://www.ishs.org/sites/default/files/page-documents/onlinesubmissionauthorsguide.pdf

  • Abstract contents should be related to one of the Congress Sessions and Sub-themes.

  • The Presenting author should clearly specify the Session and Sub-theme for which the abstract should be considered in the “Remarks from the Convener” field. The Committee reserves the right to change the Session or Sub-theme under which the abstract was originally submitted.

  • The presenting author should clearly indicate their preferred presentation format, i.e.  Oral or Poster presentation.

  • Oral Sessions presentations are approximately 12 minutes followed by a 3-minute question period.

  • Poster Sessions: Posters will be displayed in hard copy format and presented in real time and space with a question period.

  • Abstract should include purpose of study, methodology, summary of findings/results, conclusion and significance / contributions of study.

  • Abstract must be written in English.

  • List a maximum of 5 keywords for the abstract.

  • Title, authors’ names, affiliation, address, telephone and email address should be included.

  • Abstract title - limited to 12-15 words.

  • The abstract should be 250 words maximum.

  • Standard formatting such as italic can be used. Do not include any paragraph or line formatting. Abstract should be one continuous paragraph and will not include References, Figures, Tables or any other illustrations.

  • Papers may have multiple authors. The presenting author must register for the Congress. Failing to register will result in your abstract being withdrawn from the Congress program and your manuscript being withdrawn from the Acta Horticulturae Congress proceedings.

  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission. The presenting author is the corresponding author and is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.

  • Submitted abstracts should not have been presented elsewhere. Abstracts previously published will not be accepted.

  • All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.

  • Do not use abbreviations unless specified; exceptions are those internationally accepted.

  • All abstracts accepted for presentation will be published on the Congress website prior to the Congress.

  • Registered participants can submit more than one abstract but presenters that are accepted for oral presentation will be permitted to give a maximum of 2 oral presentations.  Additional accepted Abstracts will therefore be Poster only.

  • Please note the submitting author will receive all correspondence about the abstract so the submitting author details that are entered must be the same details as those of the presenting author.

  • Abstracts may not be edited/updated after final submission.

  • The Organizers reserve the right to remove from publication and/or presentation an abstract which does not comply with the above.

  • An abstract is not successfully submitted until the submitter receives a confirmation e-mail after clicking the final submit button. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact the Congress.

  • An abstract submission charge is due upon submission of an abstract and applies to the presenting author only. For ISHS Individual members, the abstract submission charge is fully waived.
Those who do not hold a user account with ISHS yet: create an ISHS user account first at https://www.actahort.org/members/newmember?asc=1 . After payment and activation of your user account, you can start your abstract submission.

  • Abstracts must always be submitted by the presenting author, using their own personal ISHS user account. Submitting an abstract on behalf of, or using the ISHS user account of another author is strictly not permitted.

  • All oral presenters, including invited and keynote speakers, must submit a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae according to the Acta Horticulturae guidelines (https://www.ishs.org/authors) by 1 December 2023. Oral presenters who fail to submit a manuscript for publication in Acta Horticulturae may be refused the floor to present their oral presentation. Authors of posters are strongly encouraged to prepare and submit a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae.

  • Failing to present (oral/poster) at the Congress will result in your manuscript being withdrawn from the Acta Horticulturae Congress proceedings.
